Structure

The Other Foundation is an organization that provides microgrants to non-profits, groups, and individuals working to make a positive impact in Birmingham, Alabama. Unlike other foundations, we are able to provide funding to those who do not have a 501c3 non-profit status.

Awards

Members vote monthly to determine which applicants receive funding. Several $1,000+ grants are awarded each month. Awards are structured as gifts; recipients should consult a tax professional regarding their individual circumstances.

Who Can Apply?

Eligible applicants include both registered nonprofit organizations and individuals with community-focused project ideas. All projects must serve the greater good of Birmingham, Alabama.

The inspiration for our logo is the iconic "Storyteller" fountain in Birmingham's historic 5 Points South Neighborhood. Used with permission by the estate of its famed sculptor, Frank Fleming, the image is emblematic of the city's unique cultural and artistic legacy.
